Mrs. Altemeier

I grew up in Muscatine, Iowa being the youngest of three children. After finishing high school, I went to the University of Northern Iowa where I majored in Elementary Education and Minored in Mathematics. While I was in Cedar Falls , I met and married my husband, Mike. We both finished school and the moved to Cedar Rapids where we have raised three wonderful girls, Olivia age 10, Maya age 8, and Sarah age 7. All three girls go to school here at Grant Wood. I took some time off to raise the girls and volunteer in their classrooms. Last year, I decided to substitute teach and ended up doing to long term positions at Monroe Early Childhood. I feel in love with being around young boys and girls and the opportunity here at Grant Wood was way too great to pass up. I love this school and would not want to be anywhere else. First grade is an amazing year and I am proud to have such a terrific class.
