I grew up in Toddville, Iowa. I was the youngest of six children. After finishing high school, I met and married my husband, Craig. We have two children, C.J. age 16 and Kelly age 14. I enjoy sports of all kinds and spending time with my family.
Mrs. Leu is the school counselor at Grant Wood Elementary. This is her 21st year in education. Her first 5 years were spent teaching a multi-age classroom of 5th and 6th grade students in Granger, Iowa. Mrs. Leu then moved to Cedar Rapids where she taught middle school for 5 years. She got her school counseling degree in 2001 and has been a counselor and facilitator in the Cedar Rapids schools for the past 11 years. Mrs. Leu is married and has two girls ages 14 and 12. She enjoys bicycling, reading, and music. She believes all kids will do well if they can. Her mantra is “leave a person feeling better about themselves after having spent time with her.”
Ms. Stephanie Lewis - Secretary
My Name is Ms. Lewis and this is my 15th school Year at Grant Wood Elementary. I started as the health secretary and have been the building secretary since 1999. I grew up in Cedar Rapids and attended Jefferson High School and Kirkwood Community College. I have two sons, Cody is 22 and lives in Houston Texas Joshua is 19 and attends Kirkwood with plans to obtain a Political Science degree.
When I am not at Grant Wood I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I am an avid Iowa Hawkeye football fan and am a firm believer there are 4 seasons in Iowa… Spring, summer, winter and Iowa Football. Go Hawks!
Mrs. Kim Seward - School Nurse
Mrs. Seward has been a school nurse in the Cedar Rapids School District for 11 years. Prior to school nursing she worked as a Labor and Delivery Nurse and in the Adult Intensive Care Unit. In addition to working at Erskine, Mrs. Seward is also the school nurse at McKinley Middle School and several off-sites and can always be reached by cell phone by contacting the school. She can assist you with any medical/ physical/or emotional needs that your student may have.
Mrs. Seward has two grown children. Her son lives in Delaware and is completing a residency in oral surgery; her daughter lives in downtown Des Moines and is a senior personal injury specialist at Nationwide Insurance. In her spare time Mrs. Seward is a Master Gardener and enjoys quilting, dancing and cooking. She shares her home with her husband and a cat named Tux.
